The World CIO 200 Summit 2021 successfully completed West Africa- Ghana, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast edition on 11th October 2021 at the GCF Virtual Arena. Carrying forward its legacy of the past five years, this year, the roadshow is going to cover 36+ countries and provide a platform for 200+ exhibitors with 300+ engaging sessions. Over 4,000 C-Level executives will be recognised in the 2021 edition.
The event partners of The World CIO 200 Summit were Infoblox, F5, Exclusive Networks, BMB, Laserfiche Veritas, Finesse and Arcon. The World CIO 200 Summit has four award categories including Legend CIO, Leader CIO, Master CIO, and Next-generation CIO:
Legend CIO: Lifetime achievement awards.
Master CIO: Experience of more than 15-20 years and unparalleled technological experience in a career life span.
Legend CIO: Experience of 10-15 years and multiple domain expertise.
Next-generation CIO: Experience of 5-10 years or less and undertaken mammoth projects in a less span of time.
The World CIO 200 Summit West Africa- Ghana, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast edition was hosted by Gurleen Kaur. Ronak Samantaray, CEO, GEC Media Group started the event with his welcome note.
During the event, there were four-speaker keynote speakers. The event was followed by World CIO 200 awards. The event was streamed live from the virtual arena and on Vimeo also.
World CIO 200 Country IT Outlook
Shimelis Legesse, CIO, Dashen Bank talked about the World CIO 200 Country IT Outlook and shared his viewpoint at The World CIO 200 – West Africa and said, “These days process automation is again very crucial because as we learnt from the Covid, the pandemic has forced us to work from different corners of the country. In process automation, we must identify all our business process because once the business process is identified then we are properly automating this process. This is again one of the contributions for the encouragement of the data dream journey as well. So automation has to be one of the key focus areas. It can be by the internal team of the bank or by the external teams of the company and there are other areas also where we can sort. This process can really mature business requirements as well.”
Leadership in post-pandemic: A cross border review
Tunisia Imen Hbiri discussed Leadership in post-pandemic: A cross border review and shared her opinion at The World CIO 200 – West Africa edition and said, “Agricultural field is an exponential market where global population is growing and food production demand is increasing. Our company has introduced digital tools to overcome this exponential growth in food needs. Digital transformation in the agriculture field helps to stimulate innovation and sustainable agri-food system.”
Transformation Outlook
Olatunji Kehinde from Veritas Technologies LLC addressed a very informative session on Transformation Outlook and said Veritas is a privately owned data management company trusted by 93% of Fortune 100 companies. He added, “specially in the pandemic we see that expectation for service and online delivery has heightened and increased. Also, one of the key pillars which Veritas provide is helping customers to protect their data regardless of what data they have, regardless of where the data is located and making sure that the data is recoverable regardless of whatever has happened.”
2021 Outlook
Kgomotso Mantu, Infrastructure Manager, CEDA discussed the 2021 outlook and said as an IT expert in CEDA, I have been helping CEDA to achieve its target. He also stated that there are so many things which are happened in the last two years due to the pandemic and this period has raised digital transformation.
