Plans to Acquire Connectem-specialist in vEPC

Brocade plans to acquire Connectem, a four year old startup that specializes in virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) software, in an all-cash transation. This is yet another sign of Brocade’s commitment to its transformative investment strategy and software networking to compliment its hardware portfolio and provide enterprises and service providers with an end-to-end infrastructure as they transition to ‘The New IP’.

According to Nishi Kant, CEO of Connectem, a step function change in scaleability is required to meet the demands of the IoT and that Connectem’s pioneering technology will dramatically improve the flexibility, scalability, and TOC of mobile vEPC solutions.

As an early investor, Brocade has kept a close watch on Connectem and believes that Connectem’s vEPC solutions will integrate seamlessly with its software and physical networking product portfolios, enabling service providers and enterprises to offer ubiquitous connectivity between mobile and IoT devices, data centers, as well as public and private clouds.
