AWS, Redington stage Ed-Tech Summit in Dubai as part of Vertical Series of events

Amazon Web Services and Redington successfully concluded the Ed-Tech Summit, the First Chapter of the Vertical Series at the Address Dubai Mall, Dubai. The event was completed on 3 October. The Vertical by Redington, is a series of events that showcase tailored industry-specific digital solutions.

The summit offered the best-in-class technologies for accelerating and enhancing education for the digital age. The COVID pandemic has put the world’s education systems through a test by fire. The already existing challenges within education have become a lot more visible with the global pandemic.

The event was opened by Gurleen Rooprai, Community Communications, GEC Media Group with her welcome keynote and joined by the top experts including Kelly Machado, Digital Strategy and Transformation, UAE Government; Dharshana Kosgalage, Senior Vice President, Redington Value; Arjun Prasad, WWPS, Amazon Web Services; Bilal Shammout, Co-founder and CEO, Massarat; Eyad Salamin, CTO, Schoolvoice; Ali El Kontar, CTO and Co-founder, Zidyia; Somaroy Gabbita, Co-founder and General Manager, Human Logic Software and Randa Moshtaha, Business Development Director Gulf Region, Almentor.

Speaking at the event, Kelly Machado, Digital Strategy and Transformation, UAE Government said, “I do believe that even proactive services can be provided in this way for all the organisations that are looking specifically for technology limitation because sometimes they don’t really have that advisory that they need to follow this, or they need to think about strategic planning and governance before they go for the implementation. And they do believe that this also can bring a new kind of or new channel of business for different suppliers and vendors.”

Speaking at the event, Dharshana Kosgalage, Senior Vice President, Redington Value said, “Education plays a vital role. Right, so that is the key today. That is Edtech. We bring education, and we bring technology, and we find out what technology can do for the education. Evolution of education around 2014 it started with books and little bit of devices.”

Arjun Prasad, Senior Account Manager – Education at Amazon Web Services also presented his thought on the role of cloud in education. The cloud makes available all users to have effortless access to resources across multiple platforms, creating a strong groundwork for developing collaboration skills.

The experts from Massarat, Schoolvoice, Zidyia, Human Logic Software, and Almentor also highlighted the different platform and their benefits in high-level education system.

The event was concluded with a closing note by  Savio Anthony, Category Head-Cloud, Infrastructure and Managed Services Group where he thanked all the delegates for joining the event and making it a big success.
