The Advisory Board of the Dubai Smart Government (DSG) initiative recently held its first meeting at the Ruler’s Court of Dubai, headed by Director General H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan, in the presence of board members including Colonel Yusuf Hamad Al Shaibani from the State Security Department in Dubai; Abdullah Al Madani from the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA); Juma Al Ghaith from Dubai Customs; Mohammad Shael from the Department of Economic Development; Mohammed Al Zafin from the Dubai Municipality; Mubaraka Mubarak from the Dubai Health Authority; Moza Al Akraf from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; Wissam Al Abbas Lootah from DSG; and Sumaia Bin Hammad, Board Reporter and Director of Communication and Business Development, DSG.
The session discussed Executive Board Resolution No. (44) of 2013 about the formation of the Advisory Board of DSG and its jurisdictions. Board members emphasized on the need to promote innovation and compliance according to best international practices, in addition to raising the level of cooperation amongst government agencies.
H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Head of the Board and Director General of Dubai Smart Government, said, “The Resolution issued by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to form the Advisory Board of DSG manifests his unparalleled support for innovation and development in the emirate to achieve higher levels of leadership and customer satisfaction, both locally and internationally. Establishing the Board emphasizes the need for cooperation and teamwork among government entities to offer integrated smart services to ultimately raise the bar for Dubai to be one of the highly competitive cities. Under the set resolution, the Board, in cooperation with other government departments, will lay down practical steps for the upcoming phase aimed at contributing to Dubai’s transformation into a smart city.”
