After a year-long journey across more than 60 countries and a series of international editions connecting CIOs and technology leaders across continents, the World CIO 200 Grand Finale 2026 has arrived in Sri Lanka, bringing the global technology leadership community together in Colombo.
Hosted at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, the Grand Finale is marking the culmination of the World CIO 200’s global journey, with more than 60 countries represented and hundreds of CIOs, technology leaders, government representatives, industry experts and partners gathering for three days of leadership, knowledge exchange, collaboration and celebration.
The first day set the tone for the Grand Finale with an emphasis on participation, community and connection. Tech Marathon – Run for Digital Nations brought the global community together beyond the traditional conference setting, creating an opportunity for CIOs, technology leaders, partners and delegates to participate, connect and share an experience centred on health, community and collective spirit.
The marathon reflected one of the defining ideas behind the 2026 World CIO 200 journey: technology leadership extends beyond boardrooms and business transformation. Built around the four pillars of Knowledge, Human, Health and Community, the initiative has evolved into a global leadership ecosystem connecting technology leaders across borders.
The day also saw international delegates and country chapters coming together in Colombo, creating opportunities for introductions, networking and conversations across markets and industries. With participants representing a diverse technology ecosystem, the Grand Finale is bringing together enterprise leaders, policymakers, technology partners and innovators around shared conversations on the future of digital transformation.
For Sri Lanka, the Grand Finale also provides a platform to showcase the country’s technology ecosystem, digital talent, innovation community and emerging opportunities to an international audience. The summit’s programme brings global technology leadership into dialogue with Sri Lankan institutions, businesses and policymakers.
As Day 1 came to a close, Colombo had already begun to reflect the international character of the Grand Finale – with different countries, industries and perspectives coming together under one global platform.
From the first steps of the Tech Marathon to the conversations and connections that followed, the opening day established the spirit of the World CIO 200 Grand Finale 2026: a global community coming together in Sri Lanka to exchange ideas, build relationships, recognise leadership and explore what comes next for technology.
The Grand Finale also featured an exclusive dinner and networking evening, bringing together CIOs, technology leaders, government representatives and industry stakeholders from across the region and beyond. The gathering provided an informal setting for leaders to exchange ideas, strengthen professional connections and continue conversations around technology, innovation and the future of digital leadership.
The global journey has reached Colombo. And the Grand Finale has begun.
